Ingredients

  • 7-8 apples peeled enough to fill 8x8 baking pan, cored and sliced
  • 1 tbsp flour or minute tapioca
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal I use large flake, NOT quick cook
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375ยบ
  • Peel, slice and core apples.
  • In large bowl toss together apples and 1 tbsp flour or 1 tbsp minute tapioca.
  • Add maple sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon.
  • Mix well, then place in 8x8 baking pan.
  • In separate bowl mix together flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, salt and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
  • Cut butter in using fork or pastry blender until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle evenly over apples.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbling.
