An easy Homemade marinara sauce recipe that is bursting with flavor. Perfect for pasta, pizza sauce and more!

Ingredients

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes with juice 28oz size
  • 2 cloves garlic finely mined
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • ½ tablespoon dried oregano
  • ½ tablespoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large skillet heat olive oil, and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  • Transfer to a pot. Stir in the tomatoes, oregano, basil, black pepper and sugar.
  • Season with salt.
  • Simmer on medium heat until the sauce reduces and thickens (about 30 minutes).
  • Serve with pasta, chicken parmesan or as a pizza sauce.
  • Optional: Garnish with fresh basil leaves and parmesan cheese.
