Cinnamon Raisin Scones is the perfect scone recipe.

- 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ cup granulated sugar plus 1 tbsp for topping
- 5 Tbsp butter cold, cut into pieces
- 3 ounces cream cheese cold
- ¾ cup golden raisins
- 1 cup cinnamon chips
- 1 large egg
- ⅔ cup heavy cream plus 1 tbsp for topping
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400º F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
In large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and granulated sugar.
Using a pastry blender, cut butter and cream cheese until mixture is course crumbs.
In small bowl combine together egg, cream and vanilla extract.
Stir in raisins and cinnamon chips.
Add cream mixture, stirring until mixture is moistened and just comes together. Do not over mix.
Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and pat into 6 inch square.
Cut into 9 even pieces and carefully transfer to prepared baking sheet.
Brush with heavy cream and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake 13-16 minutes or until light golden brown.
Serve warm or at room temperature with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Butter or your favourite preserves and clotted cream.
