  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar plus 1 tbsp for topping
  • 5 Tbsp butter cold, cut into pieces
  • 3 ounces cream cheese cold
  • ¾ cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup cinnamon chips
  • 1 large egg
  • cup heavy cream plus 1 tbsp for topping
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract


  • Preheat oven to 400º F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and granulated sugar.
  • Using a pastry blender, cut butter and cream cheese until mixture is course crumbs.
  • In small bowl combine together egg, cream and vanilla extract.
  • Stir in raisins and cinnamon chips.
  • Add cream mixture, stirring until mixture is moistened and just comes together. Do not over mix.
  • Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and pat into 6 inch square.
  • Cut into 9 even pieces and carefully transfer to prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush with heavy cream and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake 13-16 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Butter or your favourite preserves and clotted cream.
