Making Homemade Apple Chips is so easy. A perfect snack which has no preservatives, additives and sugar free! The kids will love these crisp healthy snacks.

    Homemade Apple Chips

I used apples from my very own apple tree. They are similar in taste to a McIntosh apple, but any type of apple will work. It is probably best to use a sweeter apple so the chips aren't too sour. The natural sweetness of the apple is all you need so I don't add any type of sugar to my chips. Just a sprinkle of cinnamon to this super tasty treat. If your sweet tooth really craves it, you could add a sprinkle of sugar or stevia.

    Homemade Apple Chips

The key to making crisp Homemade Apple Chips is to slice them very thin. I used a mandoline slicer on 1/16th slice setting to make perfect slices that will crisp up nicely.

Place apple slices on parchment lined baking sheet. It is important to line the baking sheet with parchment paper! I tried doing it without parchment paper and the apples stuck to the pan and never crisped up properly. Lightly sprinkle with a bit a cinnamon if you like.

Apple are baked in 200º F oven for about 2 hours, then immediately transfer them to a cooling rack.

Enjoy this fantastic healthy snack, that is so easy to make.  Make lots as they go fast!
