Apple Bread Pudding

Apple Bread Pudding is my favourite bread pudding recipe! Great for special occasions and those that love apple desserts.
Apple Bread Pudding
Apple Bread Pudding is a rich dessert with a caramelized layer of apples, challah bread and sensational cinnamon flavour. I like the taste and texture of Challah bread, but any type of white bread will work. My apples of choice are McIntosh. If you love apple desserts like I do, this is a must try recipe.

I topped my bread pudding with a store bought jar of dulce de leche sauce, but it would taste great served with ice cream or your favourite homemade caramel sauce. My recipe for Brown Sugar Sauce would also be yummy. This sauce was great on another tasty bread pudding recipe Pumpkin Bread Pudding.

When baking I use top quality ingredients so for this recipe I used Challah bread from our local bakery and fresh vanilla beans. You can’t beat the smell of apples and cinnamon baking in the oven. It always reminds me of how great my Grandma’s house smelled when she baked Apple Pie.  I served the bread pudding hot out of the oven drizzled with Dulce de Leche Sauce and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

we have Keiffer pear trees in our yard, so anything that calls for apples, I substitute with pears and this one that definitely works! This is a fantastic recipe, even if you use store bought sauce for a topping.
I will say though that it takes more than the 1 hour listed, but it’s worth it!
