Bresaola Mozzarella Sandwich is an exceptionally tasty Italian style sandwich. Made with fresh Bresaola, buffalo mozzarella and ciabatta bread.
Bresaola is an Italian air-dried, aged, salted beef fillet that tastes terrific with buffalo mozzarella and Ciabatta bread. Serve with a simple soup such as Tomato Soup with Roasted Garlic and Basil.
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Bresaola - if you can't find bresaola, prosciutto, although it has more fat, is a good substitute.
- Whole grain mustard - is a course mustard that is prepared with whole mustard seeds. This condiment has a bold, robust flavor, but in a pinch Dijon mustard can be used.
- Buffalo Mozzarella - is a rich, creamy Italian cheese made from buffalo milk. This soft cheese can be substituted with fresh mozzarella cheese.
- Ciabatta bread - a rustic Italian bread that is airy and crusty, making it the best, tasty bread for sandwiches. For something different sourdough, french bread or even Homemade Bagels can be used.
- Spinach - this leafy green has a vibrant flavor that compliments the bresaola and mozzarella cheese. Arugula or romaine also work great in sandwiches.
